Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Seven years ago, I embarked on an adventure into this nonprofit, community-building world at Community Action Center. As the new Executive Director, I climbed the steep learning curve of community-based human services. I’ve openly shared the highs, lows, and surprises with all of you in an abundance of transparency, curiosity, and good humor.

In response, you’ve trusted me with your insights, ideas, and generosity. Most importantly, you’ve trusted CAC with your stories. You’ve shared stories of crisis and trauma, stories of philanthropy and legacy, stories of healing and redemption. We have celebrated and mourned together, in solidarity. Thank you for that trust, it is sacred and life giving.

And now it is time for me to entrust CAC to new leadership. I have accepted the position of Community Development Director for the City of Northfield. In this role, I will continue to carry the values of a healthy, caring, and just community while leading housing, sustainability, and economic opportunities that will help our region thrive. I will transition to this new role in December.

Change can be scary. Transitions are hard. Soon, you will hear updates from CAC’s leadership on what the next few months will look like. During my time at CAC, I am proud of the culture we fostered, the exponential growth, and the national leading zero-energy housing projects. But I am most proud of the leaders that have emerged from our diverse staff, participants, volunteers, and partners. CAC is a place of strength and resilience because we trust and support each other as neighbors helping neighbors. You have trusted me, and I trust the strength of our community to support and carry this mission with abundance for decades to come.
