As we are encouraged at this time to stay home, many of our neighbors have jobs that aren’t able to offer paid sick days and aren’t conducive to working remotely. Neighbors with lower incomes are more likely to be uninsured or underinsured. For many, even stocking up the pantry can be an impossible financial hurdle. Hundreds of our Northfield children rely on free and reduced school breakfast and lunch, and many low-income parents can’t always afford childcare when their school-age kids are suddenly home all day.
And this list goes on and on.
CAC is concerned how COVID-19 will impact our greater community, but first and foremost, we are concerned with how this virus will disproportionately impact our neighbors with the lowest incomes. More than ever, we need your help to ensure a safe, caring, and just community for our neighbors. CAC has set up a COVID-19 Assistance fund.
See below for ways you can help alleviate some of the stress our community members are facing.
