The Community Action Center of Northfield’s Thursday’s Table program, which serves a free meal to the community each week, recently kicked off the summer with a healthy meals initiative.
Using funding from an Allina Health Neighborhood Health Connection grant, the initiative focuses on improving the health of the Thursday’s Table menu and teaching meal attendees how to prepare meals on a budget. All are welcome at the meals.
Meals are served every Thursday at Northfield Community Resource Center in the FiftyNorth Sunshine Cafe (1651 Jefferson Parkway) from 5:00–6:30 p.m. Optional education is provided every other Thursday throughout the summer, in partnership with the University of Minnesota SNAP-Ed program. Those who attend at least six education sessions during the meal will receive a $25 grocery gift card.Learn About Thursday’s Table
