CAC to Host 2017 Bridges Out of Poverty Workshop

January 1, 2017

The Community Action Center of Northfield (CAC) is hosting Bridges Out of Poverty: Applying Bridges Concepts, a workshop designed to provide education on poverty reduction and to introduce strategies that can be used to break down the barriers sustaining poverty, on Thursday, January 12, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost is $75.00, which includes lunch and program materials. The event will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church (1321 North Avenue, Northfield) and will feature a presentation by Minneapolis-based speaker Jodi Pfarr. The event is appropriate for anyone who attended past Bridges Out of Poverty workshops or who has an interest in community poverty reduction. Continuing education credits are available.

Registration is available through Eventbrite.

This informative and engaging daylong workshop will introduce participants to the powerful ways in which the public can tackle poverty together to create healthy, vibrant communities where outcomes are improved for everyone. Participants will learn more about the importance of relationship building, mentoring and how to partner with people in poverty to create opportunities for success.

Speaker Jodi Pfarr has worked internationally since 2001 conducting profound seminars. She effectively communicates and connects with diverse audiences, including police departments, judges, teachers, religious institutions, social services and fire departments. Jodi is passionate about creating sustainable communities where everyone’s voice is heard and where multiple agencies collaborate to address poverty collectively and systematically. Jodi describes her most inspiring moments during trainings as when she sees audience members become conscious of how class has impacted them personally.
