Operation Backpack is coordinated and funded by the Campaign for Children committee from the Northfield United Methodist Church. This annual event is held the week before school starts. Each child participating in the program is given a new backpack filled with the specific items that are needed for his or her grade level.
We welcome and appreciate monetary donations. This type of donation allows program coordinators to buy supplies in bulk, making each dollar stretch as far as possible, and ensure that specific supplies for each grade level are covered. Please make checks payable to Operation Backpack and send them to the Community Action Center at 1651 Jefferson Parkway, Suite HS-200, Northfield, MN 55057.
Operation Backpack sees that all Northfield children start the year prepared to succeed. The 2011 distribution will be on August 31.
