The staff at the Community Action Center has scheduled the following times to assist those wanting help with the application for free and reduced price school lunches:
Friday, August 20 1:00 – 2:00
Tuesday, August 31 10:00 – 11:00
Thursday, September 9 2:00 – 3:00
Just come to the CAC office with the names, birthdates, grade and school for each child along with the amount and sources of income for adults and children in the household. We’ll help you get the school year off to a great start!

August 25 was our annual Operation Backpack. Volunteers from the Campaign for Children provided over 500 children with the backpacks and supplies they need as the new school year begins. This year a grant from Hunger Solutions Minnesota allowed us to give each participating family a supply of healthy, kid-friendly snacks. Thanks to the Campaign for Children and the teens from TORCH who helped make this event a success!
The Community Action Center is a private, nonprofit organization serving the greater Northfield area whose mission is to promote a healthy, caring and just community for all people through resources, advocacy and volunteer effort.
